The BeatBus

The Dv8 BeatBus is a double-decker mobile media training centre: with on-board kitchen and office facilities; Apple MacBooks; HD plasma TV; video equipment; sound recording equipment; internet access; 1kGB of digital storage; workstations, group work areas; private study booth... and more!

Since September 2009, the BeatBus has travelled over 5,000 miles across the South East delivering specialist creative and media training to teenagers and young adults. We have a team of arts and media professionals who can deliver tailored workshops in music, film-making, journalism, fashion, photography, visual arts, animation, creative writing and more. All staff are CRB checked and have a range of professional creative experience, as well as an excellent track-record in engaging vulnerable or disaffected learners.

How could I use The BeatBus?

The BeatBus is available for hire, and for inclusion in creative learning/showcase projects that you may have coming up. Hire includes use of all on-board equipment and driver, all fully licensed and insured.

We can tailor further resources to your needs - Need a specialist creative workshop? Want your logo/branding on a banner on the side of the bus? Want the bus for just two hours, or every day for six weeks? Want to use it as a mobile production studio? Just ask!

For longer-term projects, we can offer accreditation through Arts Award and NOCN.

The bus is perfect for: roadshows, exhibitions, after-school activities, holiday projects, festivals, regional promotional tours, engagement programmes, field work/location shoots, recruitment drives, taster-sessions... give us a parking space, and we'll be there!

Our clients so far include East Sussex County Council, West Sussex County Council, Brighton & Hove City Employment Team, Sussex Downs College and The Crawley Foyer.

Corporate Hire

The BeatBus can turn heads at your event. Bespoke workshops for your staff, a press and media centre for your event launch, an interactive information stall for your potential clients.. the options are countless. Our specialist team can deisgn and deliver lunchtime/after hours training for your teams: from Adobe Photoshop and making a promotional video to the effective use design and graphics for your company and toymaking! The BeatBus provides a memorable and flexible learning environment.

How much does it cost?

That depends on your project idea! Our clients so far think The BeatBus is great value for money, as well as providing a totally unique and attractive environment for those who come on board. Quotes are made against individual requirements, and we will take your budget into account. All quotes include fuel, driver, project management, equipment, insurance, internet access, clean running water and electricity. Please note that there are no toilet facilities on board. Prices do start from just £280.
