FASHION & DESIGN – RINGMER

 

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Learn the skills needed to design and create your own unique outfit, using our state of the art fashion and textile facilities. Be taught by industry professionals who will support you to reach your full creative potential and bring your ideas to life.

Develop knowledge in a wide range of areas including:

  • History of fashion and design
  • Introduction to design skills
  • Fashion Drawing
  • Sewing techniques
  • Pattern Cutting
  • Textiles
  • Art and Design
  • Explore more of art and fashion on a trip to the London’s V&A Museum

 

WHAT ELSE IS IN THIS COURSE?

You will have the opportunity to study Functional Skills which will entail basic Maths & English embedded within the course which can help you to progress onto college.

All courses also include elements of personal and social development to help you move on following your time with us. These can include:

Alcohol and Drugs Awareness

Sexual Health

Health and Nutrition

Any other subject you would like to discuss!


CAN I GET A QUALIFICATION?

Whilst on our programmes you can achieve:

 

Vocational:

  • NOCN Award or Certificate in Fashion
Personal Social Development:
  • NOCN Step-Up Award or Certificate
Functional Skills:
  • Maths (Entry Level 3 / Level 1)
  • English (Entry Level 3 / Level 1)

 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE COURSE?

You will be supported by Dv8 to gain a college place or find employment or apprenticeships.

 

PROGRESSION

• Level 2 Fashion and Design courses

• Work Placement in Creative Industries

• Employment in Creative Industries and Retail


CURRENT RINGMER FOUNDATION LEARNING COURSES

These are 3 days per week and spread over 17 weeks.

Tue 11am – 4pm.   Wed 11am – 4pm.   Thurs 11am – 4pm.

Drop-in sessions are by appointment between 9.30-11am


WHO CAN TAKE THESE COURSES?

To qualify for Foundation Learning you must be:

Between 16-18

Not in work or education

 

If you have an interest in the fashion industry and would like to learn new skills or develop existing ones then Dv8 wants to hear from you; no prior experience is necessary!
