Creative Apprenticeships
The Advanced Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media
Dv8 will be launching a new advanced apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media in Autumn 2012. We are currently securing work placements for 16-18 year olds to gain the skills and qualifications needed to work and succeed in the Creative and Digital Media industry in Sussex.
There are many job roles from production to editing to camerawork, interactive media and photography. This apprenticeship provides options to cover roles across the creative industries including TV, film, digital graphcs and photo imaging.
The creative and digital media industries are rapidly evolving. New entrants will need to have an understanding of these industries. Many roles require both technical and creative abilities.
Employers look for work ready individuals who have a good standard of numeracy and literacy, strong IT skills and a good understanding of what it takes to work their way up in creative and media. This includes creativity, the capacity to work hard and flexibly, function effectively in teams and deliver to deadline.
WHAT WILL THIS APPRENTICESHIP INVOLVE?
During the apprenticeship you may be working as a production runner, a production assistant, a digital assistant, digital marketing and social networks or as an editing assistant.
You will develop an understanding of the end-to-end production cycle in relation to different platforms, such as audio, visual, interactive and emerging technologies and post production. You will gain an understanding of different genres such as entertainment, drama, news, sport, children and in different formats, e.g. live, studio and online.
You and your employer will be able to tailor your apprenticeship programme, selecting a combination of options including production, editing, interative media, audiovisual journalism, camerawork, set design and photo imaging and you will be supported by training through Dv8's centre in Brighton.
HOW LONG IS THE APPRENTICESHIP AND DO I GET QUALIFICATIONS?
The apprenticeship usually takes approximately 15 months to complete, and will include the following qualifications:
