DV8 History

EMPOWERING YOUNG PEOPLE SINCE 1999
Dv8 Training was launched in 1999, initially delivering training courses based in housing estates in East London, empowering young people to manage their own community music festival and magazine.

The success of these early projects led to the development of a number of innovative courses in Events, Music and Magazine Journalism. All courses were and continue to be taught by successful industry professionals, delivered as real projects, producing real outcomes, whether they be a club night, album or magazine.

All Dv8 courses are designed to engage and support young people helping them to develop strong personal, employment and life skills through real creative enterprise. These courses continue to provide opportunities for young people who may not have gained qualifications in more formal learning environments yet possess huge untapped potential to achieve.

Dv8 gained a lead LSC contract in London North to deliver Lifeskills in 2001 and continued to deliver innovative e2e programmes in London and Brighton, these have now been replaced with our new Foundation Learning courses. Dv8 has recently been at the forefront of the Creative and Media Diploma developments, working with Skillset to develop a pilot Diploma project, materials and website.
